Summary

 This is an exercise about using your imagination to compare two different things.

Materials Needed

–   timer

– lined  Paper

– pen or a pencil 

Instructions

  1. Set a timer
  2.  pick one concrete noun and one abstract noun
  3. List all the ways they are alike (be creative!)

Ex. Inspiration is like an orange because…

Notes

 This is an exercise inspired by Emily Dickinson.  In her work,  she uses simile and metaphor to vividly convey imagery and emotions.
